Monmouthshire Freemasons donate £1000 to Newport Mind

Both the Provincial Grand Master and Deputy Provincial Grand Master were very pleased to present the cheque to Hazel Diamond of Newport Mind. Newport Mind is a mental health organisation based in the city of Newport, South Wales and are part of Local Mind Associations in England and Wales.

Newport Mind works for the better mental health of people in Newport by providing a range of services and believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.

For young people, aged 11 to 25, they have a number of different services. These include recovery-focused individual support, self-management courses, peer mentor support, and individual support for young people undergoing transitions (such as changing schools, starting college, or moving to adult mental health services).

They also provide support for families within Newport through individual work, group work and family sessions, aiming to increase resilience within the family, enabling them to make positive changes to their emotional and mental wellbeing. This service is part of the Wellbeing Strand in the Families First Project, and is provided in conjunction with Newport City Council.

Hazel Diamond of mine said ‘ all of us at Mind Newport are very grateful to the Freemasons of Monmouthshire for their generous donation’.
